Originating in Germany about 100 years ago, the Schonherr shuttle power loom is now so rare that it is no longer in operation in Europe, and can rarely be seen outside of museum exhibits. These looms are so valuable and scarce that they are now attracting worldwide interest and attention. While modern, high-speed looms can weave 150m in a single day, the Schonherr loom can only produce about 15m. In Japan, the power looms we have in places like Okayama are great to producing thick fabrics like denim and canvas, but the rare Schonherr looms in Bishu, Aichi Prefecture, are instead used for making woolen fabrics. The yarn is rotated at low speeds and woven slowly to avoid placing and stress on the yarn, resulting in fabrics with an uncommon softness that rivals even a handwoven texture. This method also lends a kind of three dimensionality and natural elasticity to the fabric. A truly endangered species in Japan, the Schonherr loom produces Glen check and alternate stripes by weaving together twisted heather cotton yarn. By steadfastly keeping true to authentic workwear roots, we have produced these sublime farmer’s trousers, and by wearing them in hard you’ll experience an overwhelming difference in quality, in the same way you would with a quality denim.

Returns due to merchandise defects are made within 7 days of receipt for items that are unused, unaltered, and in new condition with all tags attached.

However, we generally do not accept returns for customer's convenience (*In case of size mismatch, only exchange will be accepted).

Jeans that have been hemmed by our chain stitch hemming service or by someone else after shipping are not eligible for return or exchange. Also, items without tags are not eligible. Please understand.
