FULLCOUNT is known as a denim brand, but our commitment to craftsmanship extends far beyond denim. Among our non-denim products, our sweatshirt collection has received particularly high praise.
We take pride in producing sweatshirts with a level of quality that can stand alongside—and in some respects surpass—that of brands dedicated primarily to sweatwear.
Through extensive research into the yarns, manufacturing techniques, and details found in high-quality American vintage sweatshirts, we have developed our products using traditional methods that are becoming increasingly difficult to find in modern manufacturing.
FULLCOUNT's New Choice of Cotton
What Is “Juarez Cotton”?

Since the Fall/Winter 2019 season, FULLCOUNT has used the same Zimbabwe Cotton found in our jeans for our signature sweatshirt fabric.
We carefully select long-staple, strong fibers and spin them into yarn with the appropriate specifications. The yarn is then slowly knitted on vintage loopwheel machines. These sweatshirts have long been highly regarded for their quality, but in recent years, we began looking for a new cotton that could further enhance the qualities we seek in our sweatshirts.
Our search eventually led us to a rare cotton from Mexico: Juarez Cotton, a material we found to be particularly well suited to sweatshirt production.
Juarez Cotton is characterized by its long, thick, and exceptionally white fibers, as well as its rich bulk and natural resilience. The fibers trap a large amount of air, providing excellent warmth while keeping the fabric relatively lightweight. Like wool, the cotton has a natural elasticity, helping the fabric resist wrinkling while providing a soft, resilient feel.
Starting with the Fall/Winter 2026 season, FULLCOUNT sweatshirts made with Juarez Cotton will be introduced. From this season onward, all FULLCOUNT sweatshirts will transition to Juarez Cotton.
In Pursuit of “The Ultimate Comfort”
Slowly Knitted on Traditional Loopwheel Machines

One of the most important aspects of FULLCOUNT sweatshirts is the way the fabric is knitted.
In Japan, only a small number of traditional loopwheel machines remain, primarily in Wakayama Prefecture. FULLCOUNT uses these vintage machines to slowly and carefully knit our sweatshirt fabric.
A loopwheel machine produces only around 10 meters of fabric per day. Its low productivity is only part of the challenge. Because of its complex mechanical construction, the machines require regular cleaning and inspection—sometimes as often as once every hour during production.
The yarn is also knitted without applying tension, which means considerably more yarn is required than with conventional knitting methods.

We deliberately continue to use this demanding production method because it creates a soft, airy sweatshirt fabric with an exceptionally comfortable feel. At the same time, the fabric is highly durable and gradually molds to the body with continued wear.
This philosophy is closely connected to the way FULLCOUNT produces denim on vintage shuttle looms. In both cases, we choose traditional, time-consuming methods because they allow us to create fabrics with a unique character and exceptional comfort.
Everything comes back to one goal: creating “the ultimate comfort.” Just as we take this approach with our denim, we apply the same dedication to our sweatshirts.
Our Commitment to Yarn-Dyed Construction

Another important feature of FULLCOUNT sweatshirts is our use of yarn-dyed yarn.
Most sweatshirts are produced using a piece-dyeing process, in which the fabric is cut and sewn before the finished garment is dyed. FULLCOUNT takes a different approach.
For the face yarn, we use yarn dyed before knitting, while the reverse yarn is made from naturally uneven yarn. This allows the natural softness and pleasant texture of the cotton itself to be experienced directly against the skin.

We also devote considerable time and care to the finishing process. The fabric is given a rugged, almost hand-worked circular brushing treatment, washed at high temperatures using vintage winch equipment, and dried in a large gas tumbler.
By investing time and craftsmanship into every stage of production, we create the distinctive texture and character that define FULLCOUNT sweatshirts.
Thanks to the characteristics of Juarez Cotton, the fabric becomes increasingly comfortable and develops more character with wear. The more it is washed and worn, the softer it becomes.
Known primarily for denim, FULLCOUNT brings the same level of dedication and attention to detail to these sweatshirts. Like our denim, they gradually mold to the body and are designed to be worn and enjoyed for many years.
